I stare inside the beast and it, agape,
Does peer as well like star lighted water
Attempting trance, but fighting hard I scrape
Myself together fast to stop slaughter.
Rebounding true I see the light of Grace
Illuminate my shame with healing hand
To bring me back to God's divine embrace,
Another son in His angelic race.
I know the way but lose my mind to pain
The path obscures, but still it lives to die
'Cause dying finds new life in ebbing wane
As games are played that ought not to be played.
A coward dies a thousand times, a hero
Just once, but faithful souls will only grow.
