The King Shepherd

When days get dark, black as night, and pain Causes your head to hang from sight, I will Your eyes show the future for which you came. See that world, and take to the earth to fill. Bear not a cross, son, for the road is long. But push beyond sorrow to find your light, For if spent on easy means it be spent wrong Then good is found at the foot of a fight. In each human resides the spark of life That must be tended to prevent the lie. A shepherd hands a staff to free the scythe, And love's all that's needed to finally die. The cage is open when the eyes do see, And power unbounded is all there to be. -MMF
